Softball Recap: Falkner Comes Up Short

Falkner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Grove Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 last Tuesday.

Kady Duncan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Falkner's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Pine Grove, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Falkner will take on Walnut in a tournament on Saturday. Falkner's pitchers better be ready for this one: Walnut has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Pine Grove, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Pine Grove Panthers face off against Ripley Tigers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
