Baseball Recap: Prairie Extends Winning Streak to Four

Prairie had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Everything went their way against the Kelso Hilanders as they made off with an 8-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Watson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Kishon Brown was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Owen Dirks was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Prairie pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Kelso, their defeat ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-4.

Prairie will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hilanders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
