Baseball Recap: Centennial Chargers vs. Bloomington Purple Raiders
Centennial couldn't beat Bloomington on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Chargers fell just short of the Purple Raiders by a score of 5-4. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Purple Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Centennial saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tate Sauer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Kam Murphy also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Bloomington, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will venture away from home to take on Champaign Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bloomington, they will head out to challenge Brooks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
