Baseball Game Preview: Raytown South Cardinals vs. Central Indians

The Raytown South Cardinals are taking a road trip to take on the Central Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Raytown South, who comes in off a win.

Raytown South is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Raytown on Monday. The Cardinals walked away with an 8-3 win over the Bluejays. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Reed Hamby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ty'Kese Walker, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. JuKobe Jones also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Central has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.29 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against Kearney, falling 15-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered since April 17, 2024.

Johnny Wolfe was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Massey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

This is the second loss in a row for Central and nudges their season record down to 8-6. As for Raytown South, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-7.
