Softball Recap: Lamar Takes a Loss

Lamar suffered their closest loss since February 23, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Haltom Buffalos by a score of 9-7. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Nathalie Dermas was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Mariska Soliz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Haltom, they moved to 1-10 with that victory, which also ended their 11-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Lamar will head out to face off against South Grand Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haltom, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Grand Prairie at 6:00 p.m. Grand Prairie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.
