Baseball Recap: Woodland Takes a Loss

Woodland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 10-1 to the Cleveland Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Woodland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Bennett, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Cleveland, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodland will square off against Tonkawa at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cleveland, they will welcome Mannford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The match will give Mannford their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
