Baseball Recap: Radford Comes Up Short

Radford lost against Floyd County back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bobcats took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buffaloes.

Radford saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Joyce, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Joyce has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Radford has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4-1 record this season. As for Floyd County, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Radford will face off against rival Carroll County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Floyd County is set to take on their familiar foe Alleghany at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Buffaloes' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Cougars have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
