Volleyball Recap: St. Laurence's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

After a string of six wins, St. Laurence's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Hinsdale South Hornets by a score of 2-1. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Hornets earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, St. Laurence sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-21, 21-25, 25-16.

Elijah Landeros paced St. Laurence's offense, picking up 15 kills. Landeros got some help from Matthew Suchecki and his 15 assists.

St. Laurence's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Hinsdale South, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

St. Laurence will be playing in front of their home fans against Stagg at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hinsdale South, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Leyden on the 22nd.
