Softball Recap: Tates Creek Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lincoln County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tates Creek). They blew past the Lincoln County Patriots 19-0 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Tates Creek got a massive performance out of Alexis Bazzell, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave Bazzell a new career-high. Madison Bowman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Bazzell wasn't the only one making solid contact: Tates Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Tates Creek and bumps their season record up to 3-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.5 runs over those games. As for Lincoln County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Tates Creek will be playing at home against Cooper at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln County, they will challenge Simon Kenton at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
