Softball Game Preview: North Central Knights vs. Chesterfield Golden Rams

The North Central Knights will head out to face off against the Chesterfield Golden Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. North Central's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Chesterfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

North Central's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Central by a score of 5-0. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Chesterfield got the win against Cheraw on Friday by a conclusive 12-4.

Kai Pace was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

North Central pushed their record up to 12-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Chesterfield, their record now sits at 7-10-1.

North Central was able to grind out a solid win over Chesterfield in their previous meeting on April 1st, winning 4-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
