Softball Recap: Artesia Drops Season-High Score on Westminster

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Artesia). Everything went their way against the Westminster Lions on Tuesday as Artesia made off with a 17-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaleyse Foster, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Soto, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Artesia now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Westminster, they dropped their record down to 3-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Artesia and Westminster will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Artesia is set to take on their familiar foe Cerritos at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Westminster will face off against rival Godinez Fundamental at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
