Baseball Recap: Fox Chapel's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Fox Chapel came tearing into Monday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the North Allegheny Tigers. For the Foxes, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 victory the Tigers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Tristan Blum made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Antonio LeDonne was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

Fox Chapel pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for North Allegheny, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Fox Chapel will face off against Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Allegheny, they will square off against Seneca Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
