Baseball Recap: Sickles Takes a Loss

Sickles was the 2-1 winner over Wharton when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sickles Gryphons fell just short of the Wharton Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Gryphons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sickles got a good showing from Zach Dial, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Sickles saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Yost, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Sickles now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Wharton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Sickles wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-1 win against Robinson on the 18th. As for Wharton, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 victory against King on the 18th.
