Baseball Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Berean Christian Eagles

The Las Lomas Knights will face off against the Berean Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Las Lomas comes in on three and Berean Christian on eight.

On Thursday, Las Lomas made easy work of Mt. Diablo and carried off a 21-2 win.

Aidan Thorner looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

On the hitting side, John Sellick was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Andrew Misasi, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Las Lomas always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mt. Diablo only posted an OBP of .364.

Meanwhile, Berean Christian gave up the first runs on Saturday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged out Branson 8-7. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

The team relied heavily on Max McTighe, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Sabo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Berean Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Las Lomas, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8-1.
