Football Recap: Mountain View Piles Up the Points Against Skyview

Mountain View put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They blew past the Skyview Wolverines, posting a 40-0 victory. Given the Mountain Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Wolverines are ranked 67th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mountain View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Ellen Harting led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. She has been hot, having also posted at least one defended passe the last five times she's played. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.5 points on average over those games. As for Skyview, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mountain View will square off against rival Mountain Range at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Skyview is set to take on their familiar foe Legacy at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
