Baseball Game Preview: Hancock Eagles vs. Hyde Park Thunderbirds

For the second straight game, Hancock will face off against Hyde Park. The Eagles will host the Thunderbirds at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hancock has four straight victories, Hyde Park has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Hancock beats Hyde Park with 19 runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Thunderbirds a 19-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Gael Martinez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.
