Chilton County triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Iasia Anderson

Recap: Chilton County Tigers vs. Marbury Bulldogs

Even though the Chilton County Tigers have not done well against the Marbury Bulldogs recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Chilton County came out on top in a nail-biter against Marbury and snuck past 55-53. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 17 more assists than your opponent, as Chilton County did.

It was another big night for Iasia Anderson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists. Anderson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyeshia Williams, who scored 9 points along with 16 rebounds and 8 steals.

Despite the loss, Marbury still got an impressive performance from Gabrielle Brown , who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. Brown is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Justice Blackmon was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds.

Chilton County pushed their record up to 3-4 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Marbury, they have fallen quite a ways from their 23-4 record last season and are now at 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chilton County will take on Wetumpka at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marbury, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Pike Road at 5:00 p.m.
