Basketball Game Preview: Lake Minneola Hawks vs. Apopka Blue Darters

The Lake Minneola Hawks just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Apopka Blue Darters at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Lake Minneola ended up a good deal behind Hope Academy and lost 43-27. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Apopka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 53-30 to Wekiva. While the Blue Darters didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 8-4 in the first quarter.

Apopka's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Lake Minneola, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Lake Minneola strolled past Apopka when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 62-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Minneola since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
