Basketball Recap: Grosse Pointe North Comes Up Short

Grosse Pointe North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 50-34 to the Dakota Cougars. The Norsemen were probably out for revenge after losing 53-43 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dakota's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklyn Garavaglia led the charge by going 6 of 12 on her way to 15 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Meadow Cameron, who posted 11 points along with eight steals and six boards.

Grosse Pointe North's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Dakota, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grosse Pointe North and Grosse Pointe South will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dakota, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Utica Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
