Baseball Recap: Page Has No Trouble Against Western Guilford

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northwest Guilford, Page was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-8 margin over the Western Guilford Hornets. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Hornets: they've now won seven in a row.

Bo Cooke was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Page's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-9 when he doesn't). Liam Comer was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Page's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-9. As for Western Guilford, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Page wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-1 victory against Salisbury on the 26th. As for Western Guilford, it'll be a Battle of the Bugs Western Guilford Hornets challenge Lexington Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. They are facing Lexington at the right time seeing as Lexington is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
