Baseball Recap: Winona Comes Up Short

Winona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Thayer Bobcats. Even if the Wildcats couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Winona's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Thayer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Thayer wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-3 loss against Miller on the 21st. Hopefully Winona paid attention to the Bobcats' game: the next time they hit the field , they'll take on the Bobcats at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
