Baseball Recap: Avon Comes Up Short

At the plate, Jaden Mitchell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clayton Lenz, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Avon has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6-1 record this season. As for Plainfield, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Avon will take on Hamilton Southeastern at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Orioles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Plainfield, they will face off against Martinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
