Basketball Game Preview: DSST: Cedar Falcons vs. Lincoln Lancers

The DSST: Cedar Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Lincoln Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (DSST: Cedar has five straight victories, Lincoln has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Wednesday, DSST: Cedar didn't have too much trouble with Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy as they won 64-45.

DSST: Cedar can attribute much of their success to Same Mehari, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 16 points and seven boards, and Matt Stophel, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 17 rebounds. What's more, Stophel also racked up two steals, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Semahje Kalanda was another key player, putting up 11 points and five boards.

DSST: Cedar smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Lincoln lost to DSST: Montview at home by a 56-42 margin on Wednesday.

DSST: Cedar now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.
