Volleyball Game Preview: Harbor Teacher Monarchs vs. GALA Goddesses

The Harbor Teacher Monarchs will head out on the road to challenge the GALA Goddesses at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Harbor Teacher is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Port of Los Angeles just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Polar Bears, falling 3-0.

While Harbor Teacher had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 25-22.

Meanwhile, GALA got the win against Fremont on Thursday by a conclusive 3-0. The Goddesses haven't had any issues with the Pathfinders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: GALA took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13, 25-13.

Harbor Teacher's loss dropped their record down to 17-5-1. As for GALA, their win bumped their record up to 13-17.

Harbor Teacher came out on top in a nail-biter against GALA in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Monarchs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
