Basketball Recap: Milan Takes a Loss

Milan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the South Ripley Raiders, falling 65-22. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 57-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

South Ripley was led to victory by Claire Samples and Kaiya Rinear. Samples went 5-for-11 en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and six assists, while Rinear shot 78% from the field to rack up 16 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Illana Prosser, who posted eight points and nine boards.

Milan's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for South Ripley, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Milan will head out to take on Hauser at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Ripley, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Jac-Cen-Del at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
