Volleyball Game Preview: Chugiak Mustangs vs. South Anchorage Wolverines

Chugiak hasn't had much luck against South Anchorage recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Mustangs will head out to take on the Wolverines at 11:45 a.m.

Chugiak is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Dimond, who was ranked third at the time (Chugiak was ranked seventh). The Mustangs came up short against the Lynx on Saturday, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but South Anchorage had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Lynx. The victory was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Chugiak's defeat dropped their record down to 31-15-1. As for South Anchorage, their win bumped their record up to 40-3-1.

Chugiak suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to South Anchorage when the teams last played on Friday. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
