Basketball Recap: Lang Tarrant's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bishop England over Bluffton

Bishop England lost against Bluffton back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bishop England Battling Bishops fell 58-50 to the Bluffton Bobcats. While losing is never fun, the Battling Bishops can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Bobcats are ranked 38th).

Bishop England lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Lang Tarrant, who posted 14 points along with seven boards and five assists. Those five assists gave him a new career-high. Drew Gallagher was another key player, going 5-for-8 on his way to 12 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bluffton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamari Manning, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Harrison Skinner, who had nine points in addition to eight assists and five rebounds.

Bishop England's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Bluffton, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home.

Bishop England didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-58 win against Colleton County on the 11th. As for Bluffton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-47 victory against May River on the 11th.
