Volleyball Recap: Lake Norman Wildcats vs. East Forsyth Eagles
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lake Norman can now relate to. They fell just short of the East Forsyth Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-19 in the first set.
Lake Norman took East Forsyth into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-13, 25-23, 24-26, 15-10.
Leading East Forsyth to victory were Maddie Fendley and Irelynn Price. Fendley had ten digs and five aces, while Price had 15 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Price has posted since back in September.
Lake Norman has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 17 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.
