Clinton Prairie had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Frontier Falcons by a score of 45-36. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Gophers also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Clinton Prairie was led to victory by Hyleigh Wilson and Taymorgan102 Taylor Morgan. Wilson went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points along with six assists and six boards, while Taylor Morgan went 5 for 11 en route to 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Wilson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Alexis Perez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Clinton Prairie was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 8.3.

Loss or not, Frontier got some senior leadership from Ashlyn Minniear and Madyson Mears. Minniear posted 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Mears almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. That was a full 44.4% of Frontier's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Clinton Prairie pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points per game. As for Frontier, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season.

Clinton Prairie will square off against Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. Carroll will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Clinton Prairie surely won't give up without a fight. Frontier has already played their next contest, a 38-17 defeat against North White on the 30th.
