Maypearl turns things around after tough road loss

Recap: Maypearl Panthers vs. Rio Vista Eagles
There's no place like home for the Maypearl Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 62-50 win over Rio Vista on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Maypearl, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dawson Macklin, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The contest was Macklin's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shamar Richburg, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Maypearl's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Rio Vista, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Maypearl will be home for the holidays to greet Hillsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillsboro will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Rio Vista, they will square off against Robinson at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Robinson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday.
