Softball Recap: Norte Vista Sets Scoring Season-High Against Entrepreneur

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Norte Vista). They put the hurt on the Entrepreneur Bulls with a sharp 19-3 win on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Braves needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Nicole Cline made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Angelina Mercado, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Deborah Marin, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Norte Vista always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .744. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Norte Vista picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-6-1. As for Entrepreneur, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norte Vista will square off against Bethel Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Entrepreneur, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Pomona Catholic at 3:15 p.m. on April 17.
