Lake Norman and Mooresville are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Blue Devils at 6:45 p.m. Lake Norman will be strutting in after a win while Mooresville will be coming in after a defeat.

Lake Norman took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Hickory Ridge by a score of 8-3.

Caden Beaver looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andres Acurero, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Michael Busa, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Mooresville didn't have quite enough to beat South Iredell on Thursday and fell 8-7. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Luke Modrak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lake Norman's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Mooresville, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.

Everything went Lake Norman's way against Mooresville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Lake Norman made off with a 9-3 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
