Soccer Game Preview: Panther Creek vs. Aubrey

The Panther Creek Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Aubrey Chaparrals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

It was a proper cat-fight when Panther Creek challenged Pilot Point on Wednesday. Panther Creek never let Pilot Point get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while the Bearcats are ranked 685th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Aubrey entered their tilt with Pilot Point on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bearcats 3-0. The score was close at the half, but the Chaparrals pulled away in the second half with two goals.

Aubrey pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three matchups. As for Panther Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Panther Creek beat Aubrey 3-1 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Panther Creek since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
