Things were looking good for Delta after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 13-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Liberty Center.

Faith Kern was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Jasey Spiess was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Swanton had just enough and edged Evergreen out 8-7 on Monday.

Taylor Forrest was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Forrest has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Forrest was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Forrest wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lyla Carrizales, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Delta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11-1. As for Swanton, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.
