Basketball Game Preview: Blue Ridge Knights vs. Arcola Purple Riders

Blue Ridge hasn't had much luck against Arcola recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Blue Ridge Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Arcola Purple Riders at 7:00 p.m.

Blue Ridge is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were dealt a 73-39 loss at the hands of Okaw Valley.

Meanwhile, Arcola entered their tilt with Heritage on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 54-44.

Arcola is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Blue Ridge ended up a good deal behind Arcola when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 55-36. Can Blue Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
