Recap: Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars vs. Riverside Chargers
The Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars lost against the Riverside Chargers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lyons-Decatur Northeast fell 38-29 to Riverside. Lyons-Decatur Northeast has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tavyanna Parker, who scored nine points along with 14 rebounds and three blocks, and Bailey Tuttle who scored seven points. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Riverside, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyons-Decatur Northeast and Pender will face off on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Pender will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. Riverside and Heartland Lutheran will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Heartland Lutheran is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
