Baseball Recap: The Covenant Takes Down Isle of Wight Academy in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Covenant walked away with it. They blew past the Isle of Wight Academy Chargers 11-0 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Hudson Reese, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Latham Clark, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

The Covenant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Isle of Wight Academy only posted a batting average of .200.

The Covenant is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Isle of Wight Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

As of now, neither The Covenant nor the Chargers have any future games scheduled.
