Baseball Game Preview: Brentwood School Eagles vs. de Toledo Jaguars

The Brentwood School Eagles will take on the de Toledo Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Brentwood School couldn't beat Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Mary on Saturday even though they stacked five runs on them in the sixth inning. The Eagles fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 9-8.

Brentwood School got a good showing from Owen Boelke, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Boelke gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April.

On the hitting side, Hudson Chase was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Brentwood School: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dean Hoshide, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, de Toledo fell victim to Oak Park and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. The Jaguars' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

De Toledo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Brentwood School, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
