            Softball Recap: St. John's Islanders vs. Stall Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            St. John waltzed into their matchup  on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  win over the Stall Warriors.

 KENNEDY MOORE made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  struck out 14 batters over  seven innings while giving up  five earned runs off   eight  hits (and only one walk). Those  14  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  ALEX RODRIGUEZ, who  went 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double.  TRINITIE SUTTON was another key player,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
St. John's picked up their first home  victory, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Stall,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
 St. John's and Stall will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next  contests. The next time the Islanders see the field they'll take on North Charleston  at 6:00  p.m.  on  the 21st. As for Stall, their break will end when they face West Ashley  at 6:00  p.m.  on  the 21st.
