Baseball Game Preview: Foothill Knights vs. Woodbridge Warriors

The Foothill Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Woodbridge Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Foothill's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so Woodbridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Foothill is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Yucaipa on Saturday. They fell just short of the Thunderbirds by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Knights were not able to get on the board.

Foothill got a good showing from Max Ochoa, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Foothill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Lauridsen, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Woodbridge waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Wildcats.

Vincent DeMarco was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. Vaughn Tase also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Woodbridge's victory bumped their record up to 11-5. As for Foothill, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.
