Baseball Recap: Beyer Has No Trouble Against Ceres

Beyer got themselves on the board against Ceres on Thursday, but Ceres never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Ceres' batters probably weren't too happy with Jordan Capell, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up a single walk). Capell has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Buzz Richards, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Beyer: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Vincent Zappacosta, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Beyer hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive matchups.

Beyer's win bumped their record up to 11-8-1. As for Ceres, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-8-1.

Beyer wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-2 victory against Lathrop on the 23rd. As for Ceres, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-0 loss against Central Valley on the 22nd.
