Football Recap: Dos Palos Comes Up Short

Dos Palos had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-2 to make it seven. They were dealt a 34-0 defeat at the hands of the Los Banos Tigers. The Broncos lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in August of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 7-6 score last time.

As for Los Banos, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won three games by 20 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Los Banos' victory came down to the chemistry between Kaylee Fuentes and her top target Siena Freitas. Fuentes threw for 169 yards and two touchdowns while Freitas rushed for 76 yards on only five carries. Freitas' longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain her lofty yards per carry total.

Dos Palos didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-0 loss against Madera on the 27th. As for Los Banos, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 38-0 defeat against Hilmar on the 28th.
