Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel Comes Up Short

Mt. Carmel easily dispatched Valhalla last Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Sundevils fell just short of the Del Norte Nighthawks by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sundevils of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

Kaili Martha and Jordan Grimaud did some serious damage despite the final result: Martha went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI, while Grimaud went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Del Norte, their record now sits at 8-6-1.

Looking ahead, Mt. Carmel will head out on the road to take on Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Del Norte, they will welcome Carlsbad at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
