Basketball Recap: Annapolis Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Annapolis Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 31-28 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lifegate Christian Falcons. The game was a 15-15 toss-up at halftime, but the Warriors couldn't quite close it out.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lifegate Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anelyna Cavazos, who posted seven points in addition to 24 rebounds and four steals. Cavazos has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Amariah Perez, who put up eight points and seven steals.

Annapolis Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Lifegate Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Sunnybrook Christian the next time they take the court. Lifegate Christian will host Sunnybrook Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Annapolis Christian Academy will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
