Basketball Recap: Ridge Spring-Monetta Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Ridge Spring-Monetta had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 45-33 victory over the Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-32 back in December of 2025.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ridge Spring-Monetta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ny'Asia Young, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Young is becoming a predictor of the Trojans' success: when she posts at least ten boards the team is 6-2 (and 5-6 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kennedy Ligons, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Ridge Spring-Monetta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2025.
