Softball Game Preview: Selma Saints vs. Jemison Panthers

The Selma Saints are taking a road trip to take on the Jemison Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Selma's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three contests, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Demopolis hit Selma with a 11-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Saints lost 16-0 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Jemison, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Montevallo 3-2. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Ava Grace Owens, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Greenlee Gargus also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Jemison's record now sits at 7-9. As for Selma, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Selma might still be hurting after the 16-5 loss they got from Jemison in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
