Basketball Recap: Ellet Takes Down Rocky River in a Playoff Battle

Ellet extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Rocky River. They came out on top against the Rocky River Pirates by a score of 49-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Orangemen.

Leading Ellet to victory were Caitlyn Holmes and Kenadie Keith. Holmes almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds, while Keith posted nine points. Eren Harmon also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Despite the defeat, Rocky River saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elizabeth Lang had nine points in addition to eight boards and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Olivia Dewey, who scored eight points and six steals.

Ellet's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Rocky River, their loss dropped their record down to 18-5.

Looking ahead, Ellet will challenge Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rocky River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
