Baseball Recap: Rushville-Industry Takes a Loss

The matchup between Rushville-Industry and Brown County on Friday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Rockets took a 17-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.

Jackson Spencer stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Rylan Reimolds was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one double.

Rushville-Industry now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Brown County, their record is now 21-9.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Rushville-Industry will challenge Liberty at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Brown County, they will host Mendon Unity at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
