Basketball Game Preview: Gibbs Gladiators vs. Stranahan Mighty Dragons

The Gibbs Gladiators will face off against the Stranahan Mighty Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gibbs is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 20 games.

Gibbs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took down Eustis 65-50. Given the Gladiators' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Panthers are ranked 57th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gibbs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oneal Delancy, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points. Delancy's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Isaiah Medina was another key player, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Stranahan won against St. Brendan two weeks ago with 72 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Stranahan enjoyed a cozy 72-55 win over Ribault. Winning may never get old, but the Mighty Dragons sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Gibbs' record is now 27-4. As for Stranahan, their record is now 24-7.
