Softball Game Preview: Mendenhall Tigers vs. Morton Panthers

For the second straight game, Mendenhall will face off against Morton. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

While Mendenhall's victory against Morton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers won by a run and slipped past the Panthers 14-13. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 18, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Nala Ducksworth was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyleigh Williams, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

Morton's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12. As for Mendenhall, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-8-1 record.
